The unbearable truth of things.

Her hair, like golden fire; shone ever brighter than my own, short and somewhat cute head of hair.
That is red sometimes.
It weaved and bobbed, too and fro, as she swung it around; while being eaten,
by a bear.
'My goodness.' I thought when I heard her screaming.
"Why are you just standing there?!" She shouted out in terror.
I stumbled for a moment as I took it all in..
'Where did that bear come from.' I wondered; punching the one at my throat. Right in the eye.
It let of a 'Grahull?' of surprise and quickly ran off, leaving my face intact and full of saliva.
Bears...

I rushed forward to help her as fast I as I could, and with a second thought said, 'I can't bear to see you like this.'
Approaching the other bear, as it was thrashing her about, I couldn't help but think I had nailed that one liner.
As I got closer, her screams grew louder, more panicked.
This seemed to make the bear chewing own her mad as all hell.
"Why did we eat their litt-"
"We did no such thing," I quickly interrupted. "I told you. I found those on the side of the road! I told you..."
She just rolled her eyes at me, clearly in pain but still up for a fight.
"This is all your fault," She spat. "Look at what you've done this time."
Just as I was about to reply, the bear dropped her on the ground; lifting its paw to claw at her face.
Thinking quickly I jumped forward and punched the bear, right in the eye.
It sprang back and squealed in pain. Things that looked like water began to form in its eyes.
It ran away.

I bent to help her off the ground, surprised to find her standing. She was perfectly fine.
"Thank you." She said and walked away.
"Just doing my Job," I whispered softly, narrowing my eyes. "The names Zane. Bear hunter."

but she was gone.
